Below is a list of tools and resources that I personally use in various areas of my business. Using these links allows me to get a percentage of each sale for referring you. This doesn’t change the price for you, but it does help me maintain the site and continue to create content. This list only highlights items that I personally use and recommend.
Vegas Pro Software – I edit my videos with Vegas Pro. I have been using Vegas software for close to 10 years now and though I’ve tried other platforms I always come back to Vegas. It’s really simple to use yet still powerful enough to do what I need.
Techsmith Camtasia – I’ve used Camtasia even longer than Vegas, in my opinion this is the best software for recording your screen. I use it for all of my tutorial and training work.
Panasonic Lumix G7 Camera – I upgraded to this camera in 2015 and instantly fell in love. It’s great for both photos and video. It does 4k video and it isn’t quite as large as a DSLR camera, which makes it more comfortable to carry around.
Rode Headset Mic – I generally use this mic for all videos when in my studio, rather I’m talking in front of the camera or doing a screen tutorial. I’m a huge fan of Rode and have many of their mics, this one gets used every day.
Rode Video Micro – I use this as an on camera mic, mainly when I’m doing group shots, vlogs, and non-tutorial or demo work. No battery required, small, just plug and go.
Zoom H1 Recorder – I use this small recorder for capturing audio, sometimes I’ll plug a lav mic into it and make it behave as a wireless mic, affordable and sounds great
Zoom H6 Recorder – I use this recorder when I need more inputs or mic options. It has 6 tracks and can switch between stereo and shotgun mics which is great for events and trade shows or group audio.
iRig Lav Mic – a simple lav mic that can hook up to your phone or recorder (requires an extra cable to hook up to recorders as it’s made for phones/mobile devices)
